Timothy Davison, 28, of Poland, ME was driving back to Maine from a holiday trip to Orlando, FL when he was !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Davison placed two calls to 911 to say he was being pursued by a black or blue pickup truck, probably a Ford Ranger. The truck followed him from Maryland into Pennsylvania, where, after striking the SUV several times, it rammed him into a ditch. The driver of the pickup then stepped out and fired multiple shots into Davison at point-blank range. He died several minutes after police arrived on the scene.

By the photo, it looks like the victim was in either a Mitsubishi Montero or a Suzuki XL-7. Can anyone tell?

They need to do something about weapons in USA seriously. This is getting outrageous.

Timothy was a friend of a friend. This incident is ridiculous and infuriating. I hope they catch this fucker and beat his brains out with a baseball bat.

That's a Montero. The XL-7 was much lower and softer-looking.

Memory eternal, Timothy. I hope they catch your killer.

This happened right around the corner from where I lived a few years ago. So much rage and short term thinking for such lasting regret and ruin.

This is all I read about recently, people who should not be allowed to own a gun, possessing a gun and using it in a dumb situation. I feel bad for the victims family and friends because this guy had to die because why? did he merge a little too close for the other guys comfort? Not driving fast enough?

I've gotten pretty upset with people on the roadways for stupid things, and I've seen people get intensely angry at other people on the roadways. I'll be the first to admit to honking or calling you a bad name for doing something stupid, but I can not imagine ANY situation where I could get angry enough to assault another person, other than if you threatened my life (or those traveling with me) first.

No, the police can enforce road rage whenever they are around, and road rage can be solved by more patrols on the road. This guy didn't die because of road rage, he was shot down by a gun wielding asshole.

if you say so, but what if...when he rammed him off the road...he flipped and was killed as a result...would it still be a gun issue?

I never understood the road rage mentality. Some guy wanted to fight my mom when I was young. All just because she "cut him off." She decided to not get out of the car and the guy went away eventually.

I have to admit, I've been close to ramming a guy off the road once...the heat of the moment is strong, but learning to manage knee jerk reaction like that are, in my opinion, a key part to becoming a man and not just a person who happens to be male.

Of course not! But don't be oblivious to the fact it WAS a gun issue. So yes, it was a gun that killed him, guns and gun wielding assholes are to blame.

You know...he would still be a gun wielding asshole if the gun hadn't killed him as in the scenario above. Its the asshole that's the problem, not the gun. I mean, what if he had gotten out his javelin and speared the guy? It would be the first time...there was a story I can't find from Car and Driver about a track and fielder who caught his was cheating and he threw his javelin at the offending dudes car. it struck in the front just below the windshield...fortunately for the guy it was a 911. Its the asshole problem that needs fixing more than the gun problem.

Gun crimes are more common than javelin crimes.

Texting and driving deaths are more common that gun crimes, you want to ban phones? or what about drinking and driving? Of course cell phone use and drinking in a car are both banned or discouraged, but that doesn't mean there is a safe responsible way to use them outside the car. Seriously, its not the tool, its the person who wields it.

Hey, they should make drugs illegal to then no one will have them!

Yes they are causes of death, but they aren't weapons. I don't think you're getting my point. Yes it's the people, but how did they obtain one in the first place? Because it's legal. It should be illegal that way there won't be any gun wielding assholes now will there. Why defend a weapon that can kill? In the UK, gun crimes are at a minimal, it's rare to hear about one, why? Because deluded assholes don't get to have one. In USA it's an open market, just go in, take one, go out, shoot.

It's pathetic. Don't defend it like it's something to protect you, the only thing we protect ourselves from down here is knife wielding assholes.

"Why defend a weapon that can kill?" Um guess what, that's called a car. A weapon is any tool that can be used to kill. my shoe...properly prepared...could be a weapon.

Also, you sure about UK gun crimes ?

Attack crime at its roots, I think was the key wording in there.

What rubbish. Texting and driving does not cause more deaths than guns. Not even close, whole orders of magnitude less.
